Rose Mascherino Ciarlone has been managing the restaurant since 2012 and comes with over 50 years of experience. Rose started at St. Anthony’s when she was 13 years old bussing tables and worked there into her mid 20’s. She worked under the careful eye of her father Louie "Rounnie" who had been a waiter for over 30 years there. After leaving St. Anthony's she worked at many high end restaurants including The Ship Inn, Duling Kurtz, Vickers Tavern, Seven Starrs Inn, Bonefish Grill, The Downingtown Country Club, Fonzo’s Crack Pot, and the General Warren Inne. Rose's love for Italian food and the local community is what brought her back to St. Anthony's Restaurant. Since taking over, Rose has transformed the restaurant into a family friendly establishment offering old school Italian recipes in a casual atmosphere.
Jimmy Shepherd started prep cooking at the Eagle Tavern in 1994. Jimmy worked his way through the ranks and learned from some great chefs along the way. Having worked with Rose in his earlier years, Jimmy left the Eagle Tavern in 2015 and joined forces with Rose to produce some of the areas best authentic Italian food. Jimmy runs a very clean and organized kitchen. Having been in the restaurant business since 1994, Jimmy is able to bring his love and passion for food to life in his dishes.
Jimmy is accompanied in the kitchen by Hector Fragosi and Tina DiFrancesco. Tina has been working with Rose since the day she opened. Tina specializes in the cooking of her crepe lasagna, homemade gnocchi and her famous meatballs. Rose has fond memories of working with Tina's mother, Josephine Filoromo back in the 60's and 70's. Tina brings many generations worth of knowledge into her old school Italian cooking.
Hector has been with Rose almost from the very beginning. "Hectorino" as she calls him, specializes in sauting and many of our special nightly features. His calamari is very well known and to die for. Hectors incredible food knowledge and cooking skills paired with Tina's old school Italian cooking make them the perfect compliment to Jimmy.
It is with deepest the regret and a heavy heart that I share the news I will no longer be running St. Anthony’s Restaurant or the banquet hall. As of Saturday, November 28, I will be officially closed. I do not know the future of the hall or the restaurant. I have dedicated a little over 8 years of my life to St. Anthony’s. I gave it my all but it wasn’t enough with the situation of the world right now. I simply could not afford to stay open. With sales down 75% and a revenue of almost $200K lost, it is impossible to stay open. Don’t know any business that can survive at 50%. I’ve had a lifetime reunion at work, seeing everyone I’ve known my whole life from elementary school, to present. I can never thank you enough for all the love and support that you have shown me through the years. Just wish it didn’t have to end this way. I have no regrets and yes, I would do it all over again if I could. It wasn’t anything I did or didn’t do, it’s the way of the world right now. I will miss EVERYONE I have come to meet and know. You have made it all worthwhile. I have made so many friends and I will forever cherish the memories for the rest of my life.
THANK YOU IS NEVER ENOUGH!!!!
To my family that stood by me and missed all those home cooked meals, I’m back!!! To my family cousins who never stopped supporting me, THANK YOU!
I always said if it wasn’t for family, I wouldn’t have had half the business that I did.
And to my staff, who there is no way I would have been successful as I was, I could never have done this without YOU!
I wish you all nothing but the very best for a safe, sane and healthy future.
God be with you!!!
All my love,
